I did a box opening video! This is like my 12th take since my dogs kept barking in the middle of it. I think they wanted a makeover.
On to the review!
Mary Kay Lash Primer
Mary Kay says this instantly intensifies the volume and length of lashes with this clear, dual-purpose formula that can be used as a lash-conditioning undercoat to a mascara or can be worn alone for a natural, healthy look.
I put this on, and it didn’t really seem to do much to my lashes. I didn’t really notice any visible volume or lengthening. This might work better on people with shorter eye lashes.
Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening – I <3 Black Mascara
Mary Kay describes their Lash Love Lengthening Mascara saying it features an innovative brush specifically engineered to precisely apply the formula to each and every little lash with clean definition. The brush works to adhere the formula’s fibers to lashes and then gently extend the fibers beyond the ends of the lashes. They also note it strengthens and conditions lashes and will wear all day for over 10 hours.
I like the curled brush applicator, it applies smooth and there weren’t any clumps in the formula, all while adding an extra curl to my lashes. My eyelashes are pretty long on their own, and this does help visibly extend them even more. It’s a nice mascara, but personally, I like volume in my mascara (using the primer didn’t help this). After wearing it all day, there wasn’t any smearing or running which is always a plus.
Sorry for the weird pictures, I wanted to show you a picture of it on my lashes both opened and closed and I thought winking was easier to show both haha.
Mary Kay Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush
Mary Kay says this brush is designed to provide flawless application with soft bristles. And they also suggestion you either use it for Cream Eye Color OR Concealers, not both.
The bristles are soft and the application was decent, combined when using Mary Kay’s Cream Eye Color it helped apply it evenly. It looks like a well made brush, I played around with the bristles; they look secure and they don’t appear that they would easily fall out (both before and after the application of the cream eye color).
Mary Kay Cream Eye Color – Violet Storm
Mary Kay describes their cream eye colors as long-wearing (for up to 10 hours). You can wear this as a primer under mineral eye color or alone.
I don’t think I’ve ever used Cream Eye Color before. It was definitely different than what I’m used to. It went on smooth and was easy enough to even out with the brush. It’s not as dark as I expected it, which I like. I don’t like being too dark on the eyes and I think this is a great shade of violet. I like that you can use this as a primer or a stand alone eye color. It lasted a few hours perfectly, however, it started to crease and get a bit less than perfect out in the heat.
The above picture of the mascara also showcases violet storm on my eye lids.
Mary Kay True Dimensions Lip Stick – Pink Cherie
Mary Kay describes this as intensely moisturizing, exquisitely smoothing.
This case is pretty neat, it took me a second to figure out how to open it. I like that it is a bit more secure looking than normal lipsticks. It has this unibody casing you snap over it, so when taking it out, you have to push down on the plastic see-through bit and it has a bit of a suction to make sure it doesn’t accidentally fall out of it’s case.
This color is really nice, it’s subtle, goes on and looks smooth on my lips. The only thing I don’t like, is after a bit, my lips feel somewhat dry, despite it being “intensely moisturizing”.
I don’t really see myself using the Lash Primer. I do like the cream eye color and the brush; I can definitely see myself getting use out of them. The mascara isn’t my favorite mascara in the world, but it’s a nice mascara and it’s definitely better than some I have owned; it just doesn’t offer all that I like in a mascara. The lipstick is nice, it is smooth, and it doesn’t look horrible when applied. I don’t know how often I’ll actually wear this, but I figure I could always put some lip balm on top of the lipstick to try combat the dry feeling I’m getting.
